Who’s Doug Richey

Doug & FamilyDoug Richey serves as the Senior Pastor of Pisgah Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. A Missouri native, he grew up in Warrensburg where he attended the University of Central Missouri earning a B.S. in Finance & Economics. Subsequently he worked for Chrysler Financial for 6 years where he served in numerous capacities including management and corporate training. It was during this time that Doug also served as a Combat Engineer with the Mo. Army National Guard for 8 years. Pastor Richey completed an M.Div. at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary as well as an M.A. (Biblical Languages) along with additional graduate work.

Doug’s ministry has included 12 years of pastoral ministry, 2 years of writing a pastoral response column for a county paper, NAMB Chaplaincy endorsement, several mission trips to the Ukraine and Romania, and multiple mission efforts in the US. Doug has served on several committees with the SBC and MBC having most recently served as Vice-Chair of the SBC Credentials Committee and as Chair of the MBC Resolutions Committee and just finished his service as President for the MBC’s Pastors’ Conference as well as Trustee for the Missouri Baptist University. He has also served as President for both the Missouri Alumni Association and the National Alumni Association for MBTS. Doug currently serves as Chairman of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Committee on Nominations. Along with preaching at churches and ministry events, he has also had the opportunity to preach at Hannibal-Lagrange College, the Mo. Baptist Pastors’ Conference, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Doug and his wife Jennifer have been married for 14 years and have 2 daughters.

As a result of his experiences and study of Scripture, Pastor Richey is deeply convicted by the corporate nature of the Christian faith. It is his desire that the body of Christ embrace the message of the New Testament and enjoy the blessings that flow from it.
