MBC Pastors’ Conference Press Release (June 2009)
The 2009 Missouri Baptist Pastors’ Conference officers have completed their initial efforts for this year’s conference being held October 26th at FBC Raytown. The theme, LOOK TO CHRIST!, will deal with a number of pertinent topics facing today’s pastors. The scheduled speakers are: Russell Moore, Alan Tomlinson, Gordon Dutile, and Joe Braden. Conference President Doug Richey worked with each speaker in identifying their God-given passions for this important event. Richey stated, ‘We didn’t assign our speakers topics and texts but rather wanted to grant each the liberty to speak according to the deep convictions of their hearts. This approach has worked well. I am pleased to see that we could easily accommodate each speaker’s passion and still develop a coherent conference. I know that attendees will hear the Word of God, be challenged to think, be edified in their faithful service, and leave emboldened.’
The conference officers are Doug Richey, pastor, Pisgah Baptist Church, Excelsior Springs; Doug Shivers, pastor, Boulevard Baptist Church, Springfield; and Matt Marrs, pastor, Northland Baptist Church, Kansas City.
